If you are looking for an active family holiday in New Zealand then the Otago Central Rail Trail is just perfect! Step back in time to New Zealand's rural past and join us on this cycle delight. The route follows the Old Maniototo rail line from Clyde in central Otago to Middlemarch. Our Otago Central Rail Trail cycling tour ends with one of the world's great train trips as we travel on the spectacular Taieri Gorge railway into Dunedin.
The Otago Central Rail Trail trip is not just about the cycling but rather exploring the many small towns and abandoned gold diggings and meeting local inhabitants. Along the way we will even try our hand at the ancient art of curling (bowls on ice).
From the moment you arrive until the day you depart, we're behind the scenes taking care of every last detail. Our guides and staff are there to ensure your family's safety and comfort every step of the way. Your only job is to show up and be ready to have a great family trip!
"Don’t change anything, everything was new & exciting, well organised & safe. Your guides were the most knowledgeable, considerate & patient people have ever met & the challenge has been great for my children’s development" – Ken Crowe, Nicolls, Australia.
